Aluminum case picked for its strength and ability to take abuse. 94mm for the bore with the 82mm stroke makes out to 2276cc
Piston squirter's used to help keep pistons and chamber cooler. Spot face to add even more clamping force strength to outer 18x case bolts
Here is an example of a 220hp 2276cc build for carb use on the street. We pick out some of the options and give you some insight as to why! Now this combo must drive on the street, going to run with a set of IDA's and most likely take it to the track so just might see some slicks some day! Check out as the base kit started at $2499.99 and makes its way higher!
We will keep the standard single thrust cam bearing as this combo will have straight cut gears. Straight cuts lighten the side load on the cam bearings. Our 2276 will need the larger 82mm crank. We want the option to take this car to the drag strip at some point so wedgemate is a good idea! I want this combo to be snappy and responsive so a lighten flywheel is picked. Must have a chromoly Gland nut for this combo and will have the complete assembly balanced. Just might see some high RPM's so a set of "H-Beam" rod are picked. Because of the 82mm stroke is still not huge will run the 5.4" rods for better rod ratio. Picked out a FK45 for this combo. Will need it to receive extra clearance to make it a easy build. The cam i picked works best with 1.40 ratio rockers. Also picked out some extra rocker stand shims, just in case! OK so here is the cam gears, must take the straight cuts, just like the noise they make! This combo just might make its way to the track so we will pick a set of Wiseco pistons and honed to size Mahle barrels. Going to keep the deck tight so .04" thick copper head gaskets in 94mm bore are picked. Plan to run extra oil filter and oil cooler so the larger 30mm pump is checked. Aluminum Pump cover is a good idea on aluminum case combos also. Will have the pump "O-Ringed" also do to the aluminum case. I like the billet cam plugs and how tight they fit compared to stock. Will change to the Thin-Line sump do to wanting extra ground clearance and get one of the Fast Fab Billet covers just to be safe and they look so good! Only thing here is to pick the Racer Spacer do to possible of high RPM's from this combo. I like Manton when it comes to RPM combos. Dual Taper is a over kill! Again for the look and quality will have to go with Fast Fab push rod tubes and they are easy to install. This combo will have so compression in it so opt for the 4340 Race Studs in 10mm One of the last things to think about is the heads so SE Comps 44x37 is going to help make the desired horse power. Must have them port and polish the heads if going make that 220hp mark. Also helps as they will show up with all the springs set up and cc figures i need alredy machined out to my desired cc mark to get what compression i want based on deck and copper gasket picked out. Well this brings the total to $6433.98 Not bad for real 220hp beast made from quality parts and all the extra tech help along the way!
